Mary Jones

Hi, I’m Mary, the founder and owner of Swim Lessons with Mary. I’m a Greenville, SC native and proud Clemson grad, and over 13 years ago, I launched SLWM out of a lifelong love for swimming and water safety. My background includes competitive swimming, coaching, lifeguarding, 13 years of teaching swim lessons, and even waterskiing during my Clemson days — all of which shaped the personalized, high-quality instruction that SLWM is known for today.

At SLWM, my team and I specialize in one-on-one swim lessons for all ages and abilities. We focus on water safety and self-rescue, strong technique, and building confidence in and around the water. I’m also Swim Angelfish Swim Whisperers Certified, which means I’m trained to teach adaptive swim lessons for those with special needs. Every swimmer deserves the chance to feel safe and confident in the water, and I’m proud to offer lessons that meet each individual where they are. Together, we’ve helped thousands of swimmers across the Upstate develop lifelong skills in a joyful, safe, and supportive environment.

I’m deeply grateful for the community and the role it’s played in helping SLWM grow and thrive. When I’m not in the pool, I love traveling, hiking, sailing, waterskiing, and spending time with my husband, family, and friends. My passion for aquatics and my mission to help end drowning in the Upstate drive everything I do — and I’m so honored to be part of your family’s swim journey.
