About Jessica Gonzalez
Hello and welcome! My name is Jessica and I grew up in South Bay, San Diego where I spent most of my summer days swimming in my backyard! I have been swimming since as long as I can remember and even saved another kid from drowning when I was 7. I have been working professionally with children for 14 years, and became lifeguard and swim teacher certified with the YMCA in 2014. My passion is teaching adaptive swim lessons to participants with autism or those who are differently abled. My overal goal as a swim instructor is to help reduce the drowning rate, but more specifically within the autism community here in San Diego.
To help this personal goal of mine, I created a GOFUND ME to raise money to help provide FREE lessons to those with autism. Last year, with the help of the community we were able to raise $2,100 and provided 42 free lessons to help those with autism become more water safe!
