Leisha Bishop

Hi, I’m Leisha Bishop, founder of Leisha’s Mobile Swim School and a passionate swim instructor based in Port Hedland.

My journey into swim teaching began when I discovered that my child’s primary school couldn’t offer in-school swimming lessons due to a shortage of instructors. That moment sparked something in me—I wanted to be part of the solution. I began my training in Perth, and shortly after, my family relocated to Port Hedland in 2023 when my husband was offered a position here.

I continued my training with the Town of Port Hedland, completing my Learn to Swim qualification with AustSwim, and later expanded my skills in Infant Aquatics through Royal Life Saving Australia. Working with the Town’s Swim School has been an incredible experience. Watching children grow in confidence and develop essential water safety skills makes me proud to be part of their swim journey.

Starting Leisha’s Mobile Swim School was a natural next step. I saw a real need in our remote, transient town—families struggling to access swimming lessons due to work schedules, young children, or limited availability. My goal is simple: to offer another option. Whether it’s early years lessons, 1:1 support, or flexible scheduling, I’m here to help families find what works for them.

Teaching in the comfort of your own home pool allows me to bring swim education directly to you—making it easier, more personal, and more accessible.
