About Cici
Hi, I'm Courtney! I'm the owner of Positive Waves and have over 15 years of experience working with children ages 2–21. I specialize in working with neurodivergent children and children with disabilities, particularly those who benefit from an individualized or adaptive approach, while welcoming swimmers of all abilities.
For the past 6+ years, I've worked extensively in behavioral intervention, including supporting children with complex and challenging behaviors. This experience has taught me how important it is to meet each child where they are, build trust, and adapt the way I teach to fit the individual.
Some of my favorite sessions over the years have happened in the water! I've used swimming to help children overcome fears, build confidence, improve water safety, and work toward individual goals.
I'm laid back, love being goofy, and believe kids learn best when they're having fun. I use naturalistic teaching techniques, play, and each child's interests to build swimming skills while making lessons something they can look forward to.
Whether your child needs additional support, a different approach to learning, or is simply ready to become a stronger, more confident swimmer, my goal is to help them feel safe and successful in the water.
I hold a Master's in Education and a Master's in Applied Behavior Analysis, which continue to shape the individualized approach I bring to my lessons.
I can't wait to help your child make positive waves! 🌊
