About Erikah Spinler
Hi, I’m Erikah, the owner and instructor behind Evergreen Swim Academy! 🌲💧
I have over 10 years of experience working with children in academic, camp, recreation, and aquatics settings.
At age 16, I became a lifeguard and soon after, a swim instructor. It was at a local community center where I found my passion for teaching swimmers, especially beginners and kids who are fearful of the water.
My background includes teaching swim lessons for several programs, creating swim lesson curriculum, lifeguarding at a variety of locations, and leading, developing, and coordinating children’s programs. Through these experiences, I’ve worked with children of many different ages, abilities, personalities, and learning styles. My formal education also includes an Associate of Arts (AA) and a Bachelor of Arts (BA), both in Education.
Today, I specialize in teaching swimmers ages 2–10, especially beginners and children who may be nervous, fearful, or unsure in the water. I teach through structured, intentional play alongside clear expectations and routines that help children thrive.
Years in aquatics have taught me that it is never too early or too late to learn water safety skills. My goal is to create lessons where children feel safe, supported, and encouraged to grow while building a positive relationship with the water.
At Evergreen Swim Academy, I believe strong swimmers start with strong roots. 🌲💧
