Josie Howdyshell

Josie Howdyshell, owner and operator of Center Lane Swim School, with an educational background in aquatic safety, instruction, and management as well as 18 years of hands-on swim instruction experience, has brought to life her dream of running her own swim facility and making swim instruction accessible and fun in her local community.

Starting her journey as a swim instructor at a young age, Josie has since taught thousands of individuals to swim. Prior to opening Center Lane Swim School, Josie also worked for a multinational swim school franchise, where she served as General Manager to multiple locations, overseeing daily operations, and she played a crucial role in opening two new out-of-state facilities. Josie’s exceptional leadership and expertise also contributed to turning around a struggling location, where she led the hiring and training efforts that revitalized the business.

Josie’s true passion comes in helping fearful and water-traumatized children overcome their anxieties and learn to swim—an area where her unique ability to connect with and inspire children sets her apart. She is dedicated to providing a safe, supportive environment where every child can gain the skills and confidence they need to enjoy the water.
