About Ms. Beany
I am a certified Infant Swimming Resource (ISR) Survival Swim Instructor, dedicated to teaching children life-saving water skills. My journey to becoming an instructor is deeply personal. When my son was just 22 months old, he experienced a non-fatal drowning that left him with global delays. He is now 13 years old, and his experience is the reason I live by the belief of “Not One More.”

I couldn’t save my son that day, but I honor him every time a child in my care finds their float. Watching a little one roll to safety in the water is the most exhilarating feeling for me because I know it means they are safer, and their families are more protected from the tragedy we endured.

What solidified my calling as an ISR instructor was when my younger son went through the program at just 11 months old. By the time he was 4 years old, he had become so confident and skilled in the water that he was like a fish. That moment made me realize this wasn’t just something I wanted to do—it was something I needed to do.

Today, I teach with both knowledge and compassion, knowing firsthand the importance of these skills. Every float, every roll, and every swim is a step toward preventing another family from experiencing what mine went through. My mission is to ensure that every child I teach has the chance to be safe, confident, and capable in the water.
